About
The entire collection can be split into three asset types: Research, Teaching, Utility.
Research assets must be preserved, with the goal of conservation and making the object available for future research purposes. As a general rule, they are not made available to the public, although they may be exhibited in secure circumstances.
Teaching assets can be used by the public or for direct teaching purposes. They can be "turned on", and touched and used by the public. They are not consumable or expendable, but but might be repaired, restored or used for parts if necessary.
Utility assets have some utility for teaching or research purposes, but are not themselves research or teaching assets. Examples include connection or conversion cables, power supplies, cleaning tools, or modern adapters for original hardware.
Final determination of assets is to be determined by the Curator.
