Apple iMac G3 DV 400

physical object

Identifier
2013.2.1
Description
The Apple iMac was introduced in 1998, and attracted immediate attention for many reasons. The all-in-one computer had a translucent plastic case that eventually came in thirteen different "flavors". It also broke from the past with a new G3 PowerPC microprocessor. The iMac famously came without a floppy disk drive, which had been first introduced on an Apple with the original Macintosh in 1984 (also on display). The new keyboard and awkward round "hockey puck" mouse came in matching colours.
