Description
An early form of mass storage. Direct access magnetic tape. Serial no. 14315.
IBM 2321 data cell (c. 1968)
Up to ten cells were arranged in a drum. Each cell stored 40 MB across 200 magnetic strips (or "noodles"). Strips were pulled out individually for reading/writing data. An unusual, dead-end design.
