physical object

Identifier
2010.1.25
Description
Originally made in 1992, the purpose of the next External CD-ROM Drive was to store data up to 680 megabytes. The types of data that could be stored on CD-ROMs were quite generous, ranging from text, graphic to sound files. Today, CD-ROMs are near obsolete, having been replaced by modern-day hard drives and solid-state drives with much more storage and performance power
