Description
The IBM Electrographic Pencil was developed in 1937 as a mark sensing pencil with a unique lead formula which utilized Electro Graphite. This pencil was designed to be used in conjunction with IBM's first test scoring machine, the model 805. The Model 805 was the precursor to the modern Scantron and worked optimally with the darker and electrically conductive Electrographic pencil lead. These pencils are sought after by many collectors who claim that the pencil writes extremely well.
