Description
This laptop was made by the non profit, OLPC. The XO laptop was developed by Nicholas Negroponte, a co founder of MIT's Media Lab. These laptops used flash memory instead of hard disk drives and ran off of Linux. The founders of this laptop were offered to use the MacOS by Steve Jobs but instead they used Linux as they wanted an open source operating system. This specific laptop was signed by a famous computer scientist named Alan Kay. He was known for helping to develop object oriented programming and he is also considered the "Father of Personal Computers" as he envisioned one of the first small computing systems way before any personal or micro computers were created.
