Description
This is a manual for C-Lab Notator, containing sections on what its for and how to use it. C-Lab Notator was a MIDI sequencing software released for the Atari ST in 1988, as a sequel C-Lab Creator. It was well known within European electronic music at the time, competing with other DAW software like Cubase. The main difference between it and others though, is that it was pattern based, instead of a linear track. Though overtime linear tracks became much more popular, pattern-based DAWs were phased out. Notator made full use of the Atari ST’s 640x400 resolution, with lots of options pertaining to track effects, timing, etc. It includes options on tracks like quantization, compression, looping, and delay. Eventually after legal disputes, Creator/Notator became Logic, which is a very popular DAW to this day.
